There is a claim that West Lothian is the best place to live in Scotland. We are sure other regions may say they are. However, West Lothian is very accessible being close to Edinburgh. From Glasgow it is easily reached by road or rail, and from the north, via the Forth bridges.

When you visit West Lothian there are many attractions, places to visit and things to do. Linlithgow Palace and Hopetoun House are the most well know historic attractions. Furthermore, the Outlander TV series has brought visitors to the area with filming at Midhope and Blackness Castle.

Visit the medieval kirk or the birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots. There are country parks and museums to entertain all the family. In addition the area some magnificent walks even although it has no mountains. For views, Bathgate Hills dates back to over 330 million years ago, but offers splendid views of the surrounding countryside.
